Thank You All
I am blessed
That isn’t something I’ve thought about for myself in quite some time.
I know it is true; I have many blessings in my life. But since this estrangement began, it’s been very hard to remember.
So, before the year slips away, I want to pause and say thank you.
I started this Substack account in late July, hoping to understand why estrangement happens and why it happened to my husband and me. A form of therapy to make sense of the silence.
As I dug deeper and learned how widespread estrangement really is, I decided to invite others walking this same path, or loving someone who is, to join me. I had no clue if anyone would want to walk their own path alongside mine, seeking support, understanding, and hope.
I’m both happy and heartbroken to have gained the following that I have. I’m happy and proud that you have chosen to read my work. I’m heartbroken that such a place needs to exist.
Yes, I’m definitely blessed to know that, even in a small way, I’m helping you navigate the painful path we’re on.
Your comments have been a monumental encouragement to continue my writing.
As we step into a new year, I hope the words I write continue to meet you where you are, offering clarity, support, companionship, and hope along the way.
Here’s to more healing, more honesty, and more shared moments in the year ahead.
With blessed gratitude,
The Grieving Mom - Mary
